For the research infrastructure of the Czech Centre for Phenogenomics (CCP) hosted by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences in BIOCEV campus in Vestec we are looking for suitable candidates for the position of Veterinary / PDX Lab Specialist for cancer models and treatment What will you do?

  • Preparation of the operating theatre and assisting with laboratory animal surgeries (rodents), monitoring anaesthesia, basic instrument operation
  • Postoperative care of animals, monitoring animal health and behaviour
  • Preparation and application of test substances
  • Cell and tissue culture cultivation
  • In-vivo imaging
  • Sample collection and processing
  • Following work procedures according to SOPs
  • Cooperation with other units of the infrastructure and other tasks as instructed by the direct supervisor

Depending on the project, you may be occasionally required to work short time on weekends. Who is our ideal candidate? A person who has

  • At least high school / college degree in a relevant field (veterinary or medical laboratory technician, veterinary medicine, zoology, biology, lab animal science etc)
  • A very good relationship with animals / laboratory rodents
  • Manual dexterity and great care
  • Medical fitness for working with lab animals
  • Knowledge of standard office software
  • Intermediate English (you will daily interact with foreign colleagues)

Experience in the operating theatre of a veterinary clinic or in a (clinical) laboratory focusing on tumours or experience in organoid preparation or cell cultivation is considered advantageous (we accept school practice in the field too). The position is suitable for graduates as well. What do we offer?
